Thing of the Day!
“
When I walked out of the house, I noticed the next door-neighbor had a mustard-yellow Corvette in his garage. I could only see the back of it. A young woman came out of the garage. I asked her about the car. She said, “I will go and get my dad!” Her father arrived and we had Corvette talks. His was a beautiful 1972, in mint condition. I got inside of it to see how it felt in comparison to my own. His was also a 4-speed manual transmission.
I said to the man who is approaching 50, “It is crazy how these cars are and how the seats are set so that you essentially sit on the back axle, and the entire motor is behind the front axle, so when you rip doughnuts all of that weight throws the back end of the car around so hard that it whips it, and at the end of a doughnut it will throw the car so hard that the car will actually be going backwards while you are still spinning forwards. That is a freaking wild feeling...”
He man looked at me and said, “I have never done that with mine...”
Oh.
I thought that was part of the reason to own a Corvette...!
-
I did that with mine at the very first intersection that I came to, about four minutes after I bought the car!...
